The bomber jacket has been the go-to jacket for most people for a very long time. How long you ask? The jacket has been around since the Second World War; A less known fact, about the most famous jacket of all time. The Bomber jacket was originally worn as a military jacket by the soldiers of Hungarian Cavalry in the American Civil war. Later the French designer, Coco Chanel created the woman’s version of the jacket fashion.

It wasn’t till the 1950s, the fashion crossed the gender boundaries and was embraced by females. In 1954, the leather jacket was titled as ‘Ladies companion jacket’ in Accessories Catalog. The gender bias of the jacket came to an end and was accepted by people worldwide.

In the start, quilting was only used for bed covers that kept people warm and light in weight. Often times it was used under the soldier’s armor as well to make the metal wearable. Steve Guylas and Edna together started the business at their lowest, after Steve retired from the US Air Force with eye disease in 1960.

An overcoat is worn in winter to keep us warm and from freezing. Who doesn’t want a beautiful overcoat in months of winters? Overcoats are generally used in a formal setting and as office wear.

Many times women are seen pairing the coat with boots and a lovely matching scarf. Since the 18th century, the overcoat is being used by men as formalwear. The overcoat was either used as a symbol of social status, professionally or by men in the military. Later they became a style statement and a fashion trend. They can be short, long, and come in different fabrics like velvet, of wool, depending on the designer. A nice pair of heels and a fancy top with leggings, jeggings or skirts can complete the outfit. The evening coast can be worn over a dress as well.

Maxi coats

As the name suggests, the maxi jackets are long and ankle length. They are as versatile as the denim. The coat is often paired with short and long dresses, as well as jeans, jeggings, leggings. One can wear them with boots, heels, or shoes, depending on the look one is aiming for.

The jackets are one of the few pieces of clothing that can be used as an accessory in an outfit. Though there is a misconception about the jackets that are only worn in winters, there are jackets that are made for summers as well. In a formal setting, a jacket completed the look, while in a casual setting, it makes you look edgy, trendy, and fashionable. And in winters, jackets snuggle you and keep you warm. In conclusion, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that jackets are one of the basic necessities for people.
